The sky and its stars make music to you.
The sun and the moon praise you.

The Divine Feminine is an archetype of the eternal female, a potent mythological symbol who speaks to something basic in human consciousness. She has many different manifestations and she appears to us in whatever form our consciousness can understand. Drawing from the work of Marija Gimbutas, Joseph Campbell and others we will examine choice images of the Divine Feminine from various cultures throughout human history. We will find themes within Her iconography and symbolism and begin to feel comfortable decoding the “language of the goddess.” We will also discuss the open-ended philosophy of women’s spirituality which asserts that the Divine is present at all times in this world and that Goddess (a.k.a. God, Spirit, or Deity) is available for consultation should we choose to engage. There will be an altar that will include many images of the Goddess from around the world. Please feel free to add your own images of the Divine Feminine to be blessed on the altar. Also, if you have mysterious images of Divinity you may bring them in to see if we might identify those manifestations of Spirit.
